In the latest edition of "210 Fast Break," host Gabriel breaks down an electric, down-to-the-wire finish in Orlando, where the San Antonio Spurs edged out the Magic 114-112. Despite the fatigue of a "no-day rest" schedule—having played in San Antonio the night before and flying immediately to Florida—the Spurs managed to secure a gritty victory.
The Game Breakdown
For the majority of the contest, San Antonio maintained control, holding a lead of approximately 10 points until the final three minutes. The Magic mounted a furious comeback to tie the game, erasing the Spurs' cushion and setting the stage for a dramatic conclusion.
The hero of the final seconds was an unlikely defensive anchor: Luke Kornet. Kornet, who rarely shows outward emotion, celebrated a game-sealing block that prevented the game from slipping away. It was the capstone of a three-block performance for the big man.
Top Performers
De'Aaron Fox continued his dominance, leading the team with 31 points on 11-of-20 shooting (55%) and going 3-for-7 from deep. He filled the stat sheet with 5 assists and 5 rebounds, hitting highly contested shots throughout the night.
It was a balanced offensive effort for the Silver and Black, with six players scoring in double figures:
Dylan Harper: 16 points (5-of-12 shooting) and 5 assists.
Devin Vassell: 15 points.
Julian Champagnie: 14 points.
Keldon Johnson: 13 points (5-of-8 shooting) off the bench.
Harrison Barnes: 11 points.
On the Orlando side, the Magic were led by Franz Wagner, who scored 25 points on 9-of-17 shooting, and Jalen Suggs, who also eclipsed the 20-point mark on efficient 10-of-12 shooting.
Season Outlook and What’s Next
With this win, the Spurs improve to 15-6, sitting firmly in the 4th seed in the Western Conference. Notably, they remain undefeated in division play with a perfect 6-0 record against the Southwest Division, having beaten the Rockets, Grizzlies, Mavericks, and Pelicans.
The road trip continues Friday, December 5th, as the Spurs head north to face the Cleveland Cavaliers (13-10). Following that, all eyes turn to the NBA Cup Quarterfinals on December 9th, where San Antonio will look to eliminate the Los Angeles Lakers.
Gabriel also noted that while Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle remain out, there is hope for a return around Christmas.
