What’s up, 210 Fast Break family?! The 2026 NBA Draft is officially in the books, and let me tell you, Brian Wright and PATFO (Pop and the Front Office) were completely in their bag. While the national talking heads at ESPN are boring us to death about wingspans and catch-all advanced metrics, we’re out here looking for pure dawgs ready to eat breakfast tacos and lock down the Western Conference.
We are officially building a physical defensive powerhouse around Victor Wembanyama. The league thought they could bully us down low? Think again.
Meet the Newest Spurs (Draft Grades)
The front office didn't just add talent; they added absolute steel to this roster. The Silver and Black brought in four massive pieces to reinforce the squad. Let’s grade the haul.
Round 1, Pick 20: Jayden Quaintance (C, Kentucky)
Getting JQ at 20 is borderline criminal negligence by the rest of the league. The 18-year-old big man has an incredibly high ceiling, playing with a raw physical edge that makes him an absolute menace on the glass. He’s agile, protects the rim, and gives our frontcourt serious muscle.
210 Fast Break Grade: A
Round 1, Pick 26: Tarris Reed Jr. (C, UConn)
The board fell beautifully, and grabbing the national champion big man at 26 is an absolute home run. Tarris Reed Jr. is built like a brick house. He isn't here to shoot step-back threes or dance on the perimeter; he is here to set bone-crushing screens, inhale rebounds, and bring raw toughness to the paint. Pairing a bruising presence like Reed next to the alien that is Wemby lets Victor roam freely and swat everything into the third row.
210 Fast Break Grade: A+
Round 2, Pick 42: Ja'Kobi Gillespie (G, Tennessee)
You need guys who can just roll out of bed and get a bucket, and Gillespie is that guy. He gives our second unit immediate juice, veteran college poise, and creative shot-making from the guard position.
210 Fast Break Grade: B+
Round 2, Pick 44: Maliq Brown (F, Duke)
Pop is going to absolutely love this dude. Brown is a gritty defensive grinder who does all the dirty work—running the floor, setting hard screens, and locking up multiple positions. He doesn't need the ball to change a game.
210 Fast Break Grade: B
The NBA Trade Tornado & 210 FB Trade Grades
While we were executing a flawless draft strategy, the rest of the league completely lost its collective mind. Here’s how we’re grading the massive blockbusters that shook the NBA landscape this week.
1. The Greek Freak Takes His Talents to South Beach
Miami Heat Get: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis
Milwaukee Bucks Get: Tyler Herro, Kel'el Ware, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kasparas Jakucionis, No. 13 overall pick, two future 1st-round picks, one pick swap, and a 2nd-round pick.
210 Fast Break Trade Grade: Heat: A+ | Bucks: B-
Pat Riley is an absolute mob boss. He just pulled off the heist of the decade. Yes, Miami gave up their entire young core and a mountain of draft capital, but when you put Giannis next to Bam Adebayo, you become an instant title favorite. The East just got terrifying.
2. LaMelo to the Twin Cities
Minnesota Timberwolves Get: LaMelo Ball, Josh Green
Charlotte Hornets Get: Naz Reid, 2033 1st-round pick, three pick swaps, three 2nd-round picks.
210 Fast Break Trade Grade: Timberwolves: A- | Hornets: C
Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball in the same backcourt? The vibes and highlight reels are going to be immaculate. Will Anthony Edwards put up with the LaMelo persona or will LaMelo grow up and meet Ant-Man's goals. The Wolves are swinging for the fences here. As for Charlotte... trading a franchise cornerstone for a package centered around picks that don't convey until 2033 is a massive head-scratcher.
3. Trae Young Gets His Bag in D.C.
The Deal: Washington Wizards re-sign Trae Young to a 4-year, $212 million extension.
210 Fast Break Trade Grade: Wizards: F+ | Trae Young: A+
Is Trae Young worth $212 million? Hell no. Look, Ice Trae is an offensive genius, but he is a complete turnstile on defense. He definitely isn't looked at as a leader. Wizards made a terrible mistake. They could have built around the #1 pick but chose to remain irrelevant. You simply cannot build a serious championship contender when your point guard's former team got A LOT better when he was gone. Washington just locked themselves into basketball purgatory for the foreseeable future.
4. The Jaylen Brown Dilemma: Where Should He Go?
The Situation: Boston is actively shopping Jaylen Brown, they are looking for a big return, but where should he actually end up? Should he suck it up and continue to be #2 on the Celtics or be set to the graveyard of the NBA and become the next James Harden?
210 Fast Break Recommendation: Stay in Boston. Get Over Yourself. An Stay Away From The West.
Puro San Antonio, baby. Drop a comment below and let us know if you think Tarris Reed Jr. or Jayden Quaintance cracks the starting lineup first! Go Spurs Go!
